I know I named it pretty similarly to my last fire picture but shush, you.

I took this while my apartment building burned down.

Sorry about your apartment, I hope all was well, but with regards to the photo it's very emotional, I like the textures and the mood that the smoke brings

While I'm very sorry your apartment burned down (I hope you're safe and were able to keep safe things and people you love) I'm glad you got a DD for this photo. The clarity and framing of the firemen against the smoke is terrific. Thank you.

Lol, it was cold enough that the camera body couldn't communicate with the lens after being outside 10 min.

Thank you! Reminded me of when tons of ambulances and firetrucks were going around this week and I had no idea, there was no fire so it must've been something worse.
Excellent shot too, very courageous.

XD Wow, you really know how to take advantage of a situation!!

So while your apartment was burning down, did you go straight for your camera?

I love the image you captured here, it is a wonderful angle and it really says a lot.

Kinda. I left my battery charging in the apartment, so I drove to the nearest mall with a camera store and convinced them to sell me the battery in their demo camera.

I have to say that you really caught not only the fight to put out the apartment fire, but also the freezing cold of that night the fire happened. Great work. Our firemen of Edmonton would be proud of the wonderful and expressive shot of the situation.

Thanks! I actually have other shots that capture the cold much better, but there are issues with each of them that prevent me from posting them.

Those poor firefighters work so hard.
So I bake them cakes once a month.
They really appreciate it.

They do such hard work and are often spat on by the media. It's sad. Constanly suffering budget cuts for saving people's lives.
